Girls Storm Tournament Rules OWHA Sanction # 0708140

   This is an OWHA sanctioned tournament.  OWHA regulations and the OWHA Code of Discipline shall apply to all games.

  1.    Game Timing:   
  1. All teams must be ready to go on the ice 15 minutes before their scheduled game time.
  2. Teams will be allowed a 2 minute warm up on the ice prior to each game.
  3. Each game will consist of 3 x 10 minute stop time periods and must be completed within 50 minutes running time. The game will be curfewed at the end of 50 minutes. The game time remaining will be duly noted on the gamesheet.
  4. If there is a 5 goal difference at the start of the third period, or a 5 goal difference occurs during the third period, running time will commence. Should the game revert back to a 4 goal difference, stop time will resume.
  5. If for any reason the goaltender cannot continue play, she must be replaced by a substitute. No time will be allowed for the goaltender to repair her equipment or to dress a substitute.
  6. In order to ensure the tournament schedule remains on track the tournament organizers reserve the right to terminate or change to running time any game. Should time problems arise, we will make every effort to inform both teams prior to the start of their game if we feel this will be necessary.
  7. Floods will be at the discretion of the tournament organizers.
  8. Change rooms must be cleared by 20 minutes after the end of the game.

 

  1. Check In:
  1. Only players whose names appear on the team list provided to the tournament convener at the

        time of registration may participate.   

  1. Teams must be available for sign in 45 minutes prior to the start of each game.
  2. OWHA team registration form or birth certificates shall be presented to tournament convener upon request.  OWHA Pick-up consent clause will be in effect and forms shall be presented at time of sign in.  
  1. Game Format for  Round Robin with 8 teams and Final Games

                                                                                                                                                                                       
i.  Tie games will be determined by a 5 person shoot out. Teams will mark these players before the
        game. If the game is still undecided, teams will begin a sudden death shoot out. Players cannot be
        used a second time until one teams has gone through its complete line-up. At this point, both
         teams may begin at the start of their line-up.
        ii.  One 30 second time out per team will be allowed only in the final games.

  1. General Information

 

A Hustler/MVP award will be given to a member of each team at the end of every game (excluding final games). These will be handed to the team’s coaching staff prior to each game and will be presented in the locker room after the game.

All teams will provide their own official for their team’s penalty box.

All teams should bring light and dark coloured jerseys to every game. Home teams will wear light coloured jerseys.  In the event of a conflict, the home team will change.

Referees decisions are final. No protests will be allowed.

The decisions of tournament officials are final.
