Hockey Hierarchy

The KDMHA is part of a larger hockey hierarchy that govern the rules and regulations of the game and also deals with issues of rules and discipline.

Hockey Canada

At the top is Hockey Canada, the national governing body for entry-level and high-performance hockey in the country. It is responsible for all the major decisions affecting the sport such as player divisions (or age groupings), general rules and procedures, etc.

The organization works in conjunction with the 13 provincial branches, the Canadian Hockey League, and U SPORTS (formerly CIS) to grow the game at all levels..
