Midget B Non-Contact in 2010–2011

The KDMHA is proud to offer a non-contact Midget B hockey program starting in the upcoming 2010–2011 season. Midget players will now have an option to play at the following levels:

  • Minor Midget Rep
  • Midget House Checking
  • Midget B Non-Checking
  • Major Midget Rep

Through the continued efforts of KDMHA President, Randy Cavill, and other KDMHA Executive members, Midget B players will now have an option to play non-contact hockey.

Kemptville will be offering a non contact Midget B hockey program next year. We owe it to the kids that have played non-contact hockey the entire time they have been in minor hockey. We also owe it to the parents and players that, while skilled, just want to play hockey without the “goonery” associated with some teams in Midget hockey. Some players (many adult rec players) play hockey for the dangling, the scoring, the speed, and the love of the game. These are the players we will try to keep in hockey right through Juvenile (non-contact).
As most of you know, it has been my mission for over 5 years to provide a safe environment for all players to play hockey, as long as possible. These players are not going to play Junior B, Junior A, or NHL Hockey. They just want to come to the rink, have some fun, and go back to studying to be a success in real life. Hockey is a game. It is supposed to be fun.
