Summer 2011 4-on-4 Hockey

KDMHA is pleased to announce the 4-on-4 summer hockey program will be offered again this year. For those not familiar with the program, it simply offers kids a chance to enjoy the game of hockey – no contact and no keeping score – just skating, passing, scoring and enjoying the game. The program is open to novice to juvenile players that were registered in KDMHA in 2010/11. The program will start Monday May 30th and run until Thursday July 28th.

REGISTRATION WILL BE ON-LINE ONLY starting Thursday March 31st and ending Sunday April 10th. Up to 24 skaters (i.e., 3 lines each bench) and four goalies will be accepted at each level. If the program is full by the time you register, you will receive an email as such with the option of placement on a spare list.

Schedule times are as follows:

Monday	4:30-5:20 pm	5:30-6:20 pm
Wednesday	5:00-5:50 pm	6:00-6:50 pm	7:00-7:50 pm
Thursday	5:00-5:50 pm	6-6:50 pm

A schedule of what levels at what times is not yet finalized – we will review soccer and baseball schedules and attempt to minimize same-age level conflicts as much as possible (however rest assured it won’t be conflict free!).

There are two exceptions over the 9-week period, resulting in a total of 61 ice slots. In order to accommodate the number of kids that will register, we may decide to run, for example, six groups at 10-sessions each (one lucky group would get 11) or perhaps seven groups at 9-sessions each (two unlucky groups would get 8). More details will be shared as registration progresses. However, for planning purposes, the registration cost will likely be in the range of $70 to $90. To participate, it is mandatory that each player have a reversible hockey jersey - see below for details. If a jersey is required, plan for an additional $25-$30 cost on top of the registration fee. If a player does not have a reversible jersey for the start of the 4-on-4, s/he will be de-registered.

Again, we will follow-up with final costs and instructions for payment within a couple weeks following registration.

Jersey Sizing (also attached) - available in one youth size (large/extra large), five senior sizes (small, medium, large, extra large, and double extra large), and goalie cut. Remember to measure with shoulder and elbow pads on the player. As rough guidelines, Novice (Youth, bigger than average Senior Small), Atom (Youth to Senior Small, bigger than average Senior Medium), PW (Senior Medium, bigger than average Senior Large), Bantam to Midget (Senior Large, bigger than average Senior X-Large or XX-Large).
